I must admit, this happened to me as well.

Turns out, I cannot eat as much ice cream, soy ice cream, coconut ice cream, and cold beverages as I want, and do just fine.

Started out with a little earache, then a little crinkle, then BOOM–I lost half my hearing in my right ear, and it feels like there is a wetness in there. Some pressure, and ringing, pain only when I push on it. But almost impossible to have a conversation!

What to do? Plenty of things, but most importantly, don’t rush to the doctor. Try it at home for a week:

1. Eliminate all cold foods, they weaken the kidneys (related to the ears). This includes ice cream, iced beverages, and super cold foods. If you want to cool down, jump into water, or use compresses, or AC instead.

2. Eliminate fruit juice, soda, alcohol, sugary snacks, and non-organic raw foods such as lettuce, strawberries, tomatos, peppers, bananas and mangos. Also reduce hard foods such as crackers, barbecued foods and hard-boiled or fried or baked eggs.

3. Boil some brown rice one day, and buckwheat the next. Eat for 1-2 meals, and eat Soba noodles as well. Avoid semolina (regular pasta) and other white flours. Also eat plenty of beans, especially azuki, garbanzo, black soy, and mung. Miso soup and sea vegetables and shiitakes are also good.

4. Use grapefruit oil drops, or sesame oil, or a natural ear wax softener, and an ear syringe to remove wax buildup. Give this a few days, and be gentle.

5. Get plenty of sleep, and sing fun songs every day. Do not listen to heavy rock or other loud music, and avoid loud noises.

Other ideas such as ginger compresses and kidney drink are very beneficial. Call me at 508-333-4153 for assistance.

Good luck!!

On January 4th, 2010, North Carolina’s

Star News resported:

“…millions of salmonella-infected eggs
reach American supermarkets every year.”

Eggs are sold in the supermarket dairy
section. People who keep Kosher consider
eggs to belong to the dairy food group.
Unless a food first comes out of a cow’s
udder, it’s not dairy. In case you were
wondering, I consider pus to be dairy.

I do not personally eat eggs because of
both health and ethical considerations.

I will not discuss the ethical issues here.
If you seek more information in that regard,

My first concern is your body’s health.

When rotten eggs begin to stink, there is
no greater offensive stench. That’s because
eggs naturally contain so much sulfur.

Animal proteins contain an excess of the
amino acid, methionine (which converts to
homocysteine). The center atom of methionine
is sulfur.

When you eat animal proteins, they create
an acid condition in your blood. Imagine
the essence of rotten eggs infusing into
your bloodstream. We cannot afford to lose
bone density, but this is how the human
body compensates, by leaching calcium from
the bones of egg eaters to neutralize the
acid.

So, that is why I avoid eggs, even though
I once loved to eat them. Combined with the
way they are produced, and the concentrated
chemicals within, I’ve eliminated them from
my diet.

If you were eliminating one food group at a
time on the path to adopting a plant-based
(vegan) diet here is the order that I would
advise:

FIRST: Eliminate all milk and dairy
SECOND: Eliminate all poultry and eggs
THIRD: Eliminate all seafood
FOURTH: Eliminate all pork
FIFTH: Eliminate all beef

As a rule, the higher up one goes on the
food chain, the more concentrated are the
toxins, heavy metals, pesticides, dioxins,
and PCBs in their flesh and body fluids.

How can this happen?
My poor child, stolen from her youth,
What nobody knew and dared to think.
She was savagely tied up, drugged and tortured.
Away from her family, she gave up hope of returning home.
But she struggled to live and someday be free again.

Time was not on her side.
By Springtime she was a shadow of herself.
She would never see the light of day,
But she still had her feelings, and her dreams.
She was a soul, a wretched soul, but a soul to be restored one day.

We are complicit, but it’s complicated
How many pats of butter, licks of heaven, dollops of sweet cream have we had this year?
How we love our steaks, sausages, liver and lean burgers with the juice dripping out.
How can we eat the blood of another, our beloved, our forsaken animal friends, nightly.

We cannot simplify our lives until we stop our lies
How can we change the destiny of human beings in our time?
How can we get back to a peaceful society of farmers, artists and dreamers?
How long will it be until drugs and disease and destitute people are not the feature story?

What you can do…
1. Choose organic for meat, eggs, dairy and produce. This supports an end to suffering, and the healing of planet Earth
2. Eat less animal foods, and chew well, thinking about the true cost of your meal
3. Discover the joys of plant-based eating for health, environment and peace
3. Be skeptical of a government that sends your children off to war to protect its cash flow
4. Be wary of those choosing to make a buck as you seek to balance your life, destroying our health, our planet, and our peace.
Choose Nature…

One of my fondest memories of adolescence was walking to school every day with my friend Marc.

I would always get to his house at “ten-passed” (presumably 8:10am), and generally he was running just a bit late.

Eventually he would come out, and he ALWAYS had egg on the corners of his mouth. His mom cooked him eggs every day, which was nice I guess.

Now, of course, he’s paying the piper. He has heart problems, and cannot eat the way he used to.

In my case, I also ate a fair amount of high-energy foods such as salt, meat, cheese, and had a lot of stress due to divorce, illness, addiction and money issues in my family, so I now eat about 90% vegan, which keeps me feeling good.

But last week, there was a special at Whole Foods, with organic eggs, 18 for $2.00. When I brought them home, my family laughed at me, as they frequently do, because although I am a food Nazi (please do not take offense at this, it’s a term that reminds me of a Seinfeld episode) at home, it is often my fault when we fall off the wagon. Well, needless to say we’ve baked bread, had pancakes, omelets, fried eggs, waffles, egg-drop soup, and today I made poached eggs. Absolutely delicious, but my son and I both feel eggs very strongly in our bodies.

I feel stressed, and like I could climb a mountain. So if I don’t, I usually climb on someone’s back and give them a hard time. I’m really glad I have the clarity to see how foods affect me, and that I can cook well without foods like eggs. But it was fun while it lasted!
